Another Post lol

Hey girls,

This is my last post for a bit, I promise :-)

Anyways, I just wanted to let you know I have my two pages done and will stop logging in or changing things on the site for a bit.

I'm passing the torch on ;-)

I will keep checking the blog though to see if I can help in any way.

Thanks!

Website

Hey girls,

Anne- I think I responded to all your posts ;-)

Also,

I am pretty much done with my pages. I have to add another item to the safety page and spell check both of my pages.

But I logged out so I think now you girls can log in to edit the site. I'll try to get my two sites finished today.

Responsibilities

Hi Girls,

I appologize for the numerous posts/emails. However, this final project has many pieces and it is essential for us to break up the parts and get to work. I hate to be bossy but I'm trying to get it all organized, so I appologize.

Okay, if we could all try to have our "parts" completed NO LATER THAN Saturday, it is due Sunday and we could look over it. I will be in Wisconsin, but have made arrangements to get to a computer Sunday to review our site/make changes if needed. Still, I will have limited time.

Duties:

Anne-
1. Introduction Page (explaining pbls in general, our pbl, its importance, wmu logo w/ hyperlink).
2. Reading Recipes Page (with your assignments, websites, and additional items and your contact at the bottom)
3. Your Second Page (with additions)
4. Final Inspiration Concept Map

Tracy-
1. Collaboration Page (explaining why its important, who to collaborate with, and some additional items and websites).
2. Your first page (appropriate assignments, websites, additional items, contact info).
3. Your second page
4. You already set up the site and THANKS GIRL!
5. Michigan Standards (already done!)

Abbi-
1. Set up sidebar.
2. Create Pages.
3. Delegate pieces.
4. Virtual Field Trip page (with epals/google dog and map, additional items)
5. Safety Page
6. Before Baking Page
7. ISTE Standards
8. Blog URL

Thanks girls, I will be as available as I possibly can be. I will have my pages completed by Thursday.

REMEMBER! No names except for contact at end of the pages you do, images with citations on EVERY page!

Sidebar Information

Hi Girls,

I have added all our pages and updated our navigation sidebar. Please see your page, change the title and add your information, including assignments, new ideas, websites, your contact name and email.

As for us each creating one new item, I thought we could do the following...

Abbi- Virtual Field Trip information (I can add epals/google map/doc here too) and two new items as well.

Anne- The introduction page. Possibly for your two new additions to it you could add information regarding pbl's in general, benefits, etc.

Tracy- Collaboration page, explain the importance of collaboration, who to collaborate with as teachers (like community members, other teachers, etc). Also, you could add two new items like a video on how to go about collaborating and maybe a survey for other teachers to see who has what additional experience.

Please let me know asap what you think. I am going to edit my three pages today.

I also added all the rest of our requirements such as ISTE standards, blog url, concept map sidebar (Anne I think Tracy did it last time, if you want to download the inspiration, update the map and connect the url to the page I added).

Thanks girls,
Abbi

Team Website Organization

Hi girls,

I've sent an e-mail with a rough layout for our site. However, I need to know how you would like to organize your two webpages as well as what original item/theme you'd like to do. I've chosen to do mine on virtual fieldtrips and how to use them in this PBL.

Please see the e-mails I sent, Kelsey has reviewed them. I will begin working diligently on the site today.

Team Website

Okay girls,

Sorry I haven't been on as much this past week. I have this horrible stomach issue. I have horrible nausea and the medicine they gave me makes me feel out of it and very very sleepy. So when I work on the computer I either get sick from staring at the screen or fall asleep :-/

I am starting to feel a little better.

Anyways...Lets get onto this website! It's our last biggy together and it isn't due until 6/27 but it seems like it is going to take a lot, so I'd like to get started right away. Looking at the module, how should we delegate pieces?

Abbi

Yes, I figured it out: Updated map

Tenative Podcast Scripts

Hey girls, I agree that it would be a good idea to post what we're going to say in our podcast, so that we can flow. If you do type what you're planning on saying, it doesn't have to be word for word, please post it if you have the time. Remember, the rubric scores dictation, so try not to sound like you're reading from a script if you are ;-)

Hey girls, for week 4

I did contact our instructor to let her know of my lack of participation last week, she wanted me to let you girls know about it, she also said our Google doc. was late only 7min, but it was still late, she wanted to know if it was because of me. I let her know that you were waiting on me and that is why, she said it is o.k. for us to pick up slack when one lacks, but i will take initiative this week so no worries.
Thanks for everything girls

Week 5 Assignments

Hey Girls!

I just want to get an early start on our week five module/assignments.

Collaborative Podcast:
So for our collaborative podcast, we each will create our own Audacity podcast. However, they should flow all together when Kelsey grades them- she'll make sure they sound like part 1, 2, and 3. So each of us should type up our script and post it on here so we can go off each other.

The point of the podcast is to tell parents and others what our PBL is and what we've done so far. Therefore, each of us should discuss the parts we've created. For example, I will discuss the safety in the kitchen lesson plan as well as the video on "Before we Bake." We need to decide (based on flow) who will go first, second, and third. Then we have to submit our podcast, titling it "Group One Podcast One/Two/Three).

I think for order, it would be best if I went first, then Anne, then Tracy. That way our collaboration will flow. It will go as follows...

Abbi's Podcast One: Discussing "Before we Bake" and "Safety in the Kitchen" Both of these are to be done before actually baking.

Anne's Podcast Two: Discusses reading the recipe and using measurements.

Tracy's Podcast Three: Discusses following up after the cookies are made.

I will work on mine very early in the week to provide Anne with my closure, so you can follow up to flow, same from Anne to Tracy.

Integrated Lesson Plan using Excel:

The first aspect, is someone needs to update our inspiration concept map. I'd be happy to do this, but I think it should (according to Kelsey's original description) be a new group member than the first time.

We then need to each create our second lesson using Taskstream and Excel. This lesson needs to incorporate the student's using Excel to collect data. Each of us need to decide how our students can collect data using our PBL and create a cooresponding lesson. I would like to do my lesson plan on accidents in the kitchen to reinforce safety. Anne, you may like to do a data collection regarding measurements; Tracy may like to do something on the selling of the cookies using money, etc.

Please post soon what you'd like to do your lesson on so we ensure that we have not only three different lessons, but that we all agree on the three we have as to produce a great PBL project!

I hope you girls had a great weekend!

Tracy?

Google Map Ready

Hey Anne,

I added to the map and think its ready to be published to here. I tried to do it, but it wouldn't work for me. I will try again, but if I don't have it posted by 5:00pm today, can you post it. Thanks for setting it all up and doing it, I just added a few sentences.
